The Digital and Technology team at General Mills stands as the largest and foremost unit, dedicated to exploring the latest trends and innovations in technology while leading the adoption of cutting-edge technologies across the organization. Collaborating closely with global business teams, the focus is on understanding business models and identifying opportunities to leverage technology for increased efficiency and disruption. Purpose of the role

The Digital and Technology team of General Mills India Centre is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the SAP Basis team at General Mills in capacity of a Principal Technical Architect I. This role will report to SAP Senior Manager SAP Practice. As an individual contributor and subject matter expert in SAP Basis, SAP on cloud, and infrastructure-as-code automation, the candidate is responsible for providing strategic consulting and guidance to stakeholders. They are accountable for partnering with SAP practice teams to design critical enterprise system architectures and define the overall SAP and cloud roadmap. Additionally, they will mentor team members, ensuring their development while playing a key role in aligning the organization s SAP capabilities with its broader business objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Ensure availability and good performance of system

Act as a subject matter expert for other team members and keep the light on.
Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve technical and performance problems in SAP systems and systems that integrate to SAP and guide the team members
Co-ordinate with SAP incorporation to resolve any issue
Align SAP components to business continuity strategies .
Proactively tune the system to meet business requirement.
Manage systems on SAP HANA environment

Prepare strategy to perform upgrade and patches to keep environment reliable increase resiliency

Prepare upgrade and patch policy on HANA environment both on cloud and on premises.
Be innovative in improving a process and technical documentations after taking consensus from global team.
Work with functional teams and the architecture team to suggest best practices for future SAP landscapes and enterprise applications.
Troubleshoot the problems due to upgrade/patch and form a process to prevent it in future.
Management of systems on cloud using automation tools - DevOps and automation mindset.
Can have innovative mindset to create various automation to maintain reliability of cloud and on premises.

SAP Transformation

Prepare upgrade and patch policy on HANA environment both on cloud and on premises.
Be innovative in improving a process and technical documentations after taking consensus from global team.
Work with functional teams and the architecture team to suggest best practices for future SAP landscapes and enterprise applications.
Guide team members to various aspects of transformation possibilities.
Influence and share understanding of migration strategy.
Be active member of cloud architecture design and be innovative in implementation of DevOps.
Prepare process and technical documentation.
Check all dependency and compatibility with integrated systems.
Coordinate various stewards and other dependent teams for downtime.
Proactively inform dependent team about already recorded migration issues

Guide team members to develop futuristic capability

Guide team members by providing valuable inputs and by making them understand the need of various technologies.
Work as mentor in developing cloud and automation capability.
Act as a subject matter expert to solve critical issue and document the same.
Work on innovation and automation to reduce mundane work / improve consistency.
Work on better implementation and administration plan on critical tools.
Work with other teams to improve service provided to them.
Work with wider DT teams to develop strategy / roadmap of SAP systems against core technology platforms

Work on various element of new technology.

Provide direction to organization by demonstrating technical forward thinking.
Test document various pros and cons of upcoming technology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must - have skills and experience - 15+ Years of experience in SAP BASIS.
Candidate must have thorough technical hands-on experience on SAP BASIS, SAP on cloud various automation tools.
Candidate should have working experience with a global team on supporting SAP and Non SAP systems.
Candidate should have knowledge in working on HANA, S4, cloud hyperscaler (desired GCP) macro knowledge of various modules of SAP solutions
Strong DevOps mindset.
Desired State automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Salt.
Shell based scripting such as Bash, Python, PowerShell.
Experience with Linux operating systems desired and/or Windows Server 2016/2019.
Experience with SQL Server or Oracle Working knowledge of networking.
Experience with any of the following -- ABAP, IIS, Java, Tomcat.
Strong problem determination and resolution skills are needed.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to organize, prioritize, follow-up and ensure execution of multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
Proactive and anticipate future needs.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Clear understanding of criticality of SAP BASIS team roles and responsibilities.
