Senior Consultant - ETL/Datastage (6-10 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant with a strong background in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, specifically using IBM DataStage. You will be a key member of our data integration team, responsible for designing, developing, supporting, and performing basic administration tasks related to our ETL pipelines. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects, ensuring data integrity and optimizing performance for critical business processes.

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable ETL processes using IBM DataStage.

- Implement data transformations and cleansing routines to ensure data quality.

- Develop and optimize ETL workflows for performance and scalability.

- Troubleshoot and resolve ETL-related issues, providing technical support to users.

- Perform basic administrative tasks in IBM DataStage, such as user management and job scheduling.

- Collaborate with business analysts and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Create and maintain technical documentation for ETL processes.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest ETL technologies and trends.

- Mentor junior ETL developers.

Required Skills :

- ETL Expertise : Deep understanding of ETL concepts and best practices.

- IBM DataStage : Extensive hands-on experience in designing, developing, and supporting ETL processes using IBM DataStage (including versions and specific functionalities).

- Data Integration : Strong experience with data integration techniques and tools.

- SQL : Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

- Data Warehousing : Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.

- Performance Tuning : Experience in optimizing ETL performance and scalability.

- Troubleshooting : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting ETL issues.

- Communication : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills (Optional) :

- Cloud ETL : Experience with cloud-based ETL services (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow).

- Other ETL Tools Familiarity with other ETL tools (e.g., Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS).

- Scripting : Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) for automating ETL tasks.

- Data Modeling : Experience with data modeling techniques.

- Agile Methodologies : Experience working in an Agile environment.
