Key skills for the job
Supplier Quality & Development Engineer is responsible for ensuring that our suppliers meet our quality and delivery performance standards. This includes leading APQP and PPAP projects, as well as acting as the voice of the supplier in the company.
Role & responsibilities
Owns suppliers performance management on the designated scope.
Manage performance for assigned suppliers with regular metrics review.
Conduct supplier performance reviews and foster improvement of suppliers' performance.
Deploy supplier development projects with the support of SQ&D
Support of operational issues with impacted GBE (according to escalation process)
Develop and maintain supplier quality and delivery performance metrics.
Contribute to AOP & STRAP objectives achievement for the designated scope:
Manage customer claims and ensure timely resolution.
Conduct supplier audits and drive continuous improvement.
Lead Conduct supplier audits and drive continuous improvement.
Develop and maintain supplier scorecards.
Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing teams to ensure
supplier quality and delivery performance.
Ensure compliance with all applicable quality standards and regulations.
Responsible for leading and executing APQP and PPAP as per defined milestones by program management.
Lead APQP and drives projects to final phase.
Validates ODT and PPAP with suppliers including change management in serial conditions.
Ensures all issues during development and serial life are being captures via Lessons Learned
Represents Voice of the Supplier
Preferred candidate profile
Bachelors Degree or above,degree in Mechanical Engineering and significant work experience ;
IATF16969 internal auditor certification ;
2nd party VDA 6.3 audit certification and actual practic
Six Sigma experience Lean Expert or Black Belt is a plus.
> 5 years work experience
Experience on independently problem solving a logical and methodical approach,
Technical background in automotive, Manufacturing plant and Production process experience
Experience on practice of quality tools such as AIAG - APQP, PPAP, MSA, D&PFMEA, DOE, ISO, IATF-
Key skills:
Excellence understanding of quality tools and process (8D, 5Why, Cause/Effect Diagram)
Good experience on at least one related commodity process, such as casting, machining, stamping, welding, plastic injection, etc.
Strong ability to understand drawings and technical specifications.
Knowledge in Quality system & Process Auditing, preferably based on VDA 6.3
Results oriented, good accountability, keep commitments, Excellent communication skills and good influence skills
Fluent spoken and written English- knowledge of a second language is a plus
