The CAD Draftsman is responsible for preparing precise technical drawings using CAD software for a variety of industries, including construction, engineering, manufacturing, and architecture. They work with design teams to convert concepts and specifications into accurate drawings and blueprints that guide the production and construction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting and Design:
-Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Sketchup).
-Prepare designs for structural, mechanical, electrical, or architectural projects.
-Work with engineers, architects, or other design professionals to understand project requirements and translate them into technical drawings.
Collaboration:
-Work with project teams to gather information and requirements to develop accurate technical documents.
-Revise drawings based on feedback or changes in project specifications.
Documentation
-Prepare and maintain clear, organized drawings, specifications, and project documents.
-Ensure drawings are in line with project standards and client requirements.
-Assist with the creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) or project cost estimation documents.
Quality Control
-Review technical drawings for accuracy and adherence to design standards.
-Ensure drawings comply with industry codes, regulations, and internal standards.
Project Support
-Assist with site surveys, gathering measurements, and collecting data for drawings.
-Provide support for the preparation of project proposals or presentations.
-Help with coordinating design reviews and meetings to finalize plans.
Key Qualifications
Education: Associates degree or certification in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in drafting or related fields.
Skills
