Design, code, test, and debug mainframe applications using languages like COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.Lead and manage mainframe development projects from inception to completion. Coordinate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables. Develop and implement system enhancements and modifications. Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical support, ensure project timelines and quality standards. Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization of mainframe systems to ensure efficient operation. Identify and resolve system bottlenecks and performance issues. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns. Translate technical concepts into understandable terms for nontechnical stakeholders.
