Sap Abap Developer

The SAP ABAP Developer's role is to design, code, test, and analyze SAP software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, and documenting SAP software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The SAP ABAP Developer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required.

Coordinate and manage and ensure high quality from 3rd party development (AMS) companies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assist other developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new SAP software programs and applications as part of the global SAP S/4 HANA roll out project.
• Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of SAP projects.
• Assist in the preparation and documentation of SAP software requirements and specifications.
• Conduct research on emerging SAP application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform SAP software improvements and upgrades.
• Consistently write, translate, and code SAP software programs and applications according to specifications.
• Run and monitor SAP software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
• Conducting thorough code reviews to identify and fix bugs and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Support implementation of automated testing procedures to validate the functionality and performance of the software.
• Collaborating with QA teams to develop and execute test plans and test cases.
• Providing regular status reports on the quality of the software to management and stakeholders.
• Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
• Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
• Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or appearance of company SAP Web site and/or related SAP Web applications as necessary.
• SAPUI5 developer for frontend and backend (OData Services / CDS-Views) environments.
• Liaise with Globa Process Owner, Global ERP Leads, network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with SAP software products or company SAP software systems.
• Manage and/or provide guidance to junior SAP developers and external AMS companies

Position Requirements

• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or software engineering, and/or equivalent work experience.
• Certifications in SAP ABAP development.
• Working technical knowledge of SAP programming languages, including ABAP.
• Strong knowledge of Fiori Apps and BTP.
• Experience in leading and managing software developer.
• Experience working with SAP enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience working in integrated development environments, including SAP development tools.
• Extensive experience with SAP operating systems
• Familiarity with the SAP industry.
• Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including SAP Web technologies.
• Hands-on SAP software troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and security.
• Experience with specific phases of the SAP software development life cycle.
• Familiarity with SAP software development methodologies.
