Supplier Quality Manager

Job Purpose

Support Supplier Quality team through supplier quality assurance program. Responsible for ensuring that products manufactured meet quality standards and thereby reducing number defect and cost of poor quality. Assist product development and new product introduction from initial stage to mass production. Root cause analysis and ensure feedback loop to prevent stoppage of solar plant construction and operation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Lead global Supplier Quality team, reporting to Director of Quality
2. Coordinate with Sourcing and supply chain team members and ensure supplier qualification and supply readiness according to FTC sourcing strategy
3. Responsible for Quality at Source and Drive Zero Defect mentality within the Supply Base.
4. Accountable for Supplier Qualification through FTC Solar Supplier Quality Program (Audit, PPAP etc.)
5. Work with suppliers ensure adherence to FTC Solar s PPAP Requirement (PFC, FMEA, CP, FAI etc.) and responsible for review and approval prior to Mass Production
6. Ensure control of process and product parameters of all FTC Solar key components at supplier to meet End Product Requirement.
7. Support new Product Launches ensure compliance to required Standards Product Requirement.
8. Conduct inspection ensure product quality during all stages of Supplier Qualification Mass Production (FAI, PPAP, PDI etc)
9. Responsible for driving and closing RCA Corrective Actions of Supplier Quality issues. Work with the supplier directly, ensure action plan closure to address Customer Complaints. On-site Supplier visits for RCA Verification of CAPA.
10. Responsible for driving and closing actions related to Supplier Development and Part Development
11. Review supplier processes work on improvements (Kaizen, Poke-Yoke, Lean, Six Sigma etc)
12. Responsible for monitoring supplier performance, identify work on improvement opportunities within Supply Base.
13. Support SQ other relevant team members to monitor, report supplier quality performance.

Experience and Education:

• BE / B. Tech (Mechanical) or Engineering Equivalent
• 8+ Year Experience in Supplier Quality Function

Travel: 50% and on Need basis

Knowledge, Skills Abilities:

1. Knowledge in Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
2. Knowledge in Supplier Qualification, Supplier Audit, Supplier Development and Part Development
3. Knowledge in PPAP and its related activities PFC, FMEA, QCP, FAI, MSA, PSW etc
4. Knowledge in Control Plan and method to ensure Adherence at Supplier End
5. Knowledge in Root Cause Analysis Corrective Action of Supplier Quality Issues (8D etc)
6. Knowledge in Measurement Technique, Inspection Method Equipment
7. Knowledge in reading and interpretation of Engineering Drawings

1. Knowledge in Manufacturing Processes (Sheet Metal Fab, Tube Rolling, Welding, Casting, Assy etc)
2. Knowledge in Surface Coating - HDG, Pre Galv, Zn Flake, Geomet, Plating, Powder Coating, Painting etc

1. Knowledge in Products like Motors, Dampers / Shock Absorbers
2. Planning and prioritising activities, good communication and interpersonal skills
3. Self-driven, and decision-making qualities. Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
