JOB TITLE: Senior Project Manager/Program Manager – India Observatory
LOCATION: Anand (Gujarat)

FES invites applications from Personnel who have a passion and commitment to take up challenging roles.

• Development of web-GIS applications using PHP and GIS related technologies and Map-based embeddable widgets;
• Participate in full project life-cycle: concept, design, build, deploy, test and release. Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges. Create technical documentation for applications developed;
• Work with team on new product ideas, designs, prototypes and esti-mates. Keep up-to-date on current and upcoming features in relevant products and platforms;
• Develop API/Web-service to be used for communication with a mobile app, work with external API integration. Write/understand intermediate que-ries in PostgreSQL and execute them using PHP;
• Develop high-quality code that is maintainable, testable, and scalable. Mantain source code versioning using Git and Gitlab. Implement web security practices and protocols. Ensure code is secure against common vulnerabilities such as XSS, CSRF, SQL injection etc;
• Take up any other task as deemed fit or entrusted/assigned by the reporting officer from time to time;

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:
 Master degree in Computer Science, M.Tech, B.Tech or equivalent, Graduate with development experience.
 Over 5+ years of strong hands on experience as a Web GIS developer - in web mapping technologies (e.g., Leaflet, OpenLayers) and APIs (e.g., ArcGIS REST API, Google Maps API, Google Earth Engine APIs).
 Experience with geodatabases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS) and spatial data formats (e.g., Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML).
 Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript/jQuery. Familiar to MVC frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Laravel.
 Knowledge of REST API development and best practices, should have experience with external API integration.
 Strong knowledge of applicable methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures. Experience with SDLC and Agile Development Methodology to deliver projects. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, preferably Git.
