We are looking for a Product Manager to lead the development, strategy, and execution of our battery storage solutions portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of energy storage systems, market trends, and customer needs, combined with a strong background in product management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring our innovative battery energy storage products to market, ensuring they deliver value to customers, meet regulatory requirements, and align with the company s long-term strategic goals.
In this role, you will also have the added responsibility of coordinating with the India regional team, ensuring that the product offerings are tailored to meet the unique challenges and opportunities in this fast-growing market, while aligning local strategies with broader organizational goals
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Roadmap Development
Define and drive the product strategy for our Battery Energy Storage solutions, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market needs.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that spans the product lifecycle from ideation to end-of-life, prioritizing product features and updates.
Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitor offerings to continuously refine the product strategy and roadmap.
Product Development & Customization
Lead the development and optimization of battery energy storage solutions, working closely with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams.
Tailor product specifications, features, and functionalities to meet diverse customer needs, including residential, commercial, and utility-scale applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that products are scalable, cost-effective, and meet industry standards for safety, performance, and efficiency.
Market Research & Customer Insights
Conduct in-depth market research to understand customer pain points, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements in the energy storage and renewable energy space
Gather feedback from customers (utilities, businesses, residential users) to refine product features and identify new opportunities
Monitor the competitive landscape, including emerging technologies, pricing strategies, and industry shifts, to ensure our products maintain a competitive edge.
Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy & Launch
Develop go-to-market strategies for new product launches, including positioning, pricing, and sales enablement materials.
Work closely with marketing, sales, and customer success teams to ensure effective product messaging and communication with target customers.
Plan and support product launches, ensuring seamless execution and customer adoption
Regulatory & Compliance Management
Ensure that all battery energy storage products comply with regional and global regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and technical standards.
Stay up-to-date with energy storage industry regulations, government incentives, and utility policies to ensure product compliance and optimize market opportunities.
Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure that products meet the appropriate certifications and industry standards (e.g., UL, IEC, CE)
Product Lifecycle Management
Oversee the entire lifecycle of the battery storage products, from ideation and development to deployment and end-of-life.
Continuously evaluate product performance and customer satisfaction to drive improvements and innovations.
Monitor product KPIs (e.g., adoption rates, ROI, efficiency improvements) and use data-driven insights to inform product iterations.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
Act as the regional product champion for India, providing strategic direction and guidance on product decisions and initiatives.
Act as the product expert, representing the battery energy storage product line to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, engineering, and sales teams
Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on product performance, market feedback, and strategic initiatives
Develop product training materials for internal teams and external partners to ensure they are well-equipped to support the products
Communicate product vision, updates, and performance to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in India, including local customers, distributors, suppliers, and partners
What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence
Education:
Bachelors degree in related field (e.g., Engineering, Science, Business Administration). A master s degree or higher is preferred.
Experience:
7+ years of experience in product management or related field, with at least 3 years of experience in the energy storage, renewable energy, or related industries
Strong understanding of battery energy storage technologies, grid integration, and renewable energy applications
Proven track record in developing and launching products tailored to the Indian market or other emerging markets
Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving product development from ideation to launch
Skills & Expertise:
Knowledge of energy storage systems (BESS), grid technologies, renewable energy integration, and related software platforms
Strong understanding of Indian energy sector regulations and government policies related to renewable energy, grid modernization, and energy storage
Experience with Agile methodologies, stage gate and product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and prioritize tasks effectively.
