Role: Backend Developer (Node.js)

We are looking for a Node.js Developer with 8+ years of experience responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

Responsibilities:

• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code.
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications.
• Implementation of security and data protection.
• Integration of data storage solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to support various front-end functionalities.
• Monitor and optimize application performance to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to resolve issues and improve system stability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality.
• Mentor and support junior developers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices to continuously improve development processes.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, APIs, and system architecture.
• Lead a team of at least 5 developers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency with JavaScript.
• Knowledge of Node.js and frameworks available for it like Express, Sequelize, etc.
• Experience with TypeScript and its integration with Node.js applications.
• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds.
• Good understanding of server-side templating languages EJS, etc.
• Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors Scss, Sass, Less, etc.
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3.
• Understanding accessibility and security compliance.
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system.
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform.
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

What are we looking for:

• 8+ years of experience in Node.js and frameworks available for it like Express, Sequelize, etc.
• Experience with TypeScript and its integration with Node.js applications.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
