VP- FP&A Investments & Expense Specialist
Your Team Responsibilities:
- This role serves as a key contributor in identifying strategic areas for Internal Capital Allocation (ICAP), performance measurement, and expense management within MSCI's core product lines. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the FP&A team, reporting to a Executive Director responsible for strategically tracking investments, establishing robust controls, and enhancing transparency in investment processes.
- The role also involves managing critical management reporting, including presentations for the Board of Directors. Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.
- This position offers a unique opportunity to play a critical role in shaping MSCI's financial strategies while driving impactful decision-making across the organization.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Internal Capital Allocation: Oversee ICAP for product lines, identifying optimal investment opportunities and reporting insights to senior management.
- Expense Management: Monitor, analyze, and report expenses across multiple levels, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Investment Tracking: Evaluate the cost-benefit analysis of investments, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure justifications are robust and well-documented.
- Performance Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models in Excel to track product performance, providing actionable insights and key takeaways for business leaders.
- Influence and Decision Support: Support decision-making by articulating data-driven rationales to influence relevant stakeholders.
- Management Reporting: Ensure accuracy and control over ICAP reporting in critical management materials, including Board presentations, Quarterly Financial Reviews, Strategic Updates, and Business Reviews.
- Efficient Delivery: Deliver high-quality, precise outputs within tight deadlines, demonstrating accountability and independence.
- Team Collaboration: Work independently on specific deliverables while contributing collaboratively to larger team initiatives with a cooperative mindset.
- FP&A Expertise: Provide support for budget and forecasting processes, addressing inquiries with strong financial acumen.
- Standardization and Automation: Drive the standardization and automation of reporting processes across various segments and functions.
- Presentation Skills: Create and deliver impactful presentations, leveraging advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- Your skills and experience that will help you excel.
Experience:
- Minimum of 12+ years in Financial Planning & Analysis.
- Proven experience in financial analysis within a professional business environment.
Education:
- Professional qualifications such as CA or MBA in Finance are strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to manage complex data sets.
Stakeholder Management:
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence senior stakeholders effectively.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Leadership:
- Prior experience managing teams is an advantage.
Initiative and Problem-Solving:
- A proactive, analytical thinker with a proven ability to deliver accurate and detailed financial insights independently.
