Position Title: Finance / Commercial Analyst

Location: Chennai or Manilla

Reports To: Technology Systems Manager

- High-visibility role with Executive Support.

Position Purpose:

- Increasingly IDP technology costs are consumption based (eg Cloud, SaaS, CaaS, and Digital Advertising) and this change brings a change in emphasis in the ways technology costs are managed.

- IDP is looking for an experienced Commercial Analyst with a genuine passion for analysing technology costs, critically examining licencing and pricing models, exploring and understanding utilisation patterns, and making insightful recommendations to reduce the TCO of individual platforms.

- To be successful in this role you will have a genuine passion for driving business insights into technology costs, applying critical analysis, and identifying opportunities to make a positive financial impact on the cost of technology at IDP.

- The Commercial Analyst is part of the Technology Management Office and works closely with Cloud Operations team members, owners of consumption-based SaaS solutions, and technology leadership to establish and maintain the environment for consumption cost optimisation.

Key Performance Area Key Responsibility:

Technology Cost Analysis:

- Analysing individual consumption / subscription contracts and usage patterns to identify optimisation opportunities.

Accountability Model:

- Work with Engineering teams, business owners, technology owners, vendor managers to bring to effect identified optimisations.

Consumption Cost Visibility:

- Ensure visibility of actionable cost and utilisation information is available to the necessary stakeholders.

Consumption Cost Attribution:

- Attribute spending to applications, projects and other business assets enables cost awareness and drive accountability.

- Provide governance over attribution (tagging & other Metadata) compliance and design.

- Manage the attribution logic and attribution for shared resources.

Cost Incident Management:

- Detect and investigate cost anomalies.

- Work with CloudOps to build alerting and guardrails.

Consumption Cost Allocation:

- Manage the process of allocating Cloud and other consumption-based costs to the business based on agreed attribution rules.

Consumption Budget Administration:

- Work with Budget Owners to push accountability into Operational groups through granular budgets, and regular reporting.

- Manage the monthly review of performance to plan for the first sub-level of each consumption cost pool.

Consumption Cost Training:

- Prepare and conduct training sessions with Engineers and others who make operational decisions leading to consumption costs.

Consumption Unit Economics:

- Provide Unit Economic reporting linking the cost of Consumption costs to the most relevant business metrics.

Consumption Procurement Management:

- IDP utilizes a range of Cloud Procurement approaches to manage the cost of consumed resources. Manage the identification, procurement, and renewal of these procurements.

Cost Optimisation Initiative Tracking:

- Maintain visibility over cost optimisation initiatives and provide stakeholder updates on opportunities and status.
