The 2D Digital Engineers form part of the Designs Engineering Team within the ENGINE supporting Chevrons Refining and LNG Assets in the brownfield project design and MOC process. The role is crucial in administrating, running and managing SmartPlant 2D tools (SmartPlant Instrumentation- SPI, SmartPlant PID SPPID and SmartPlant Electrical SPEL) for Operations and brownfield projects.This role reports to the Information Management Team Lead
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the administrating, running and managing SmartPlant 2D tools (SmartPlant Instrumentation- SPI, SmartPlant PID SPPID and SmartPlant Electrical SPEL) for Operations and brownfield projects
Liaise with Chevron IT and Engineering Service Providers (ESP) to establish uninterrupted access to SmartPlant 2D tools
Develop procedures, standards and best practices to manage engineering information and ensure content remains relevant and up to date
Develop and provide customized reports to customers
Develop and provide regular SmartPlant 2D exports to other systems e.g. Engineering Data Warehouse
Prioritize and develop enhancements to increase the efficiency within SmartPlant 2D tools
Investigate and support issue resolution and escalate as required. Provide solutions or workarounds when required
Coordinate the handover of engineering systems information from Major Capital Projects (MCP) and Phase 5 ESP to Operations, ensuring that it is valid and complete
Support upgrade software upgrades and customizations when required
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) to MCPs
Provide training and mentoring to users of SmartPlant Instrumentation- SPI, SmartPlant PID SPPID and SmartPlant Electrical SPEL tools
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in relevant discipline Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Chemical/Process (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university or IE Trade Background
10-15 Years experience in Smart Plant Suite is essential, with strong working knowledge SmartPlant PID
This role must be familiar with the practical application of Control loops and be able to administer within SPI
