Demand Planner

Role & responsibilities

• Inventory Management: Incumbent will oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of inventory across all retail outlets and warehouses. Ensure optimal stock levels to meet customer demand while minimizing overstock and stock-outs. Monitor inventory turnover and develop the plan to reduce waste and obsolete stock.
• Stock Accuracy: Implement and maintain accurate inventory tracking systems to ensure stock levels are precise and up-to-date. Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory management.
• Demand Forecasting: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to predict demand patterns based on sales trends, seasonality, market data for different locations. Analyse historical data to create accurate forecasts for procurement planning.
• Supply Chain Coordination: Co-ordinate with supply chain team to ensure the timely delivery of high quality products at required locations/partners.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present inventory reports, including turnover ratios, shrinkage, and valuation, to senior management. Use data-driven insights to suggest improvements in inventory policies and procedures.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and legal standards for inventory storage and handling. Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections related to inventory management

Preferred candidate profile

• Proficiency in inventory management systems/ERP software. Should have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• 6+ years of experience in inventory control or supply chain management, preferably in the retail, ecommerce or handicraft industry.
• Should have exposure inventory management software to track, manage, and optimize inventory. Recommend and implement new technologies or tools to enhance inventory operations.
• Proven track record of reducing inventory costs and improving operational efficiency.
• Familiarity with the unique challenges of managing inventory, such as seasonal demand and diverse product SKUs
