Reporting To: Design Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer to join our Product Design team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in product design, SPM design, entrance automation, tool design, and experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. You will be involved in designing light-duty products, creating concept and part drawings, developing prototypes, and validating product performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop light-duty products using AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
• Create concept drawings, general arrangement drawings, and part drawings.
• Develop prototypes and validate product performance through testing.
• Reverse engineer products to improve designs and functionality.
• Work closely with vendors for prototype development and part sourcing.
• Source parts from both domestic and international suppliers.
• Ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements, including machining and sheet metal fabrication.
• Apply knowledge of mechanical elements, fits, and tolerances in design.
• Perform calculations related to product design.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience in product design for light-duty products.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in SPM design or entrance automation.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in tool design.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for creating design documentation.
• Hands-on experience with prototype development and product validation.
• Experience in reverse engineering for product development.
• Knowledge of mechanical elements, fits, and tolerance standards.
• Familiarity with machining and sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with vendors and suppliers.

Preferred Industry Experience:

• Industries involving mechanical and electrical parts like automation, manufacturing, product design
