Role Overview :
We are seeking a talented RF/Wireless Communication Engineer to join our R&D team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising RF communication systems, including antenna design and tuning, for our advanced embedded products.
This role involves a hands-on approach to developing wireless communication solutions, ensuring that antenna performance aligns with overall system requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- RF System Design : Design and develop RF communication systems, including selecting suitable RF modules and optimising the entire communication chain to ensure high reliability and performance.
- Antenna Design and Tuning : Design antennas tailored to specific frequency ranges and environmental conditions, ensuring optimal signal strength and communication range. Tasks include simulations, prototyping, and physical tuning.
- Antenna Performance Optimization : Optimise antenna performance through impedance matching, gain adjustment, and minimization of signal loss, ensuring consistent communication quality.
- Module Configuration : Configure RF communication modules, including setting transmission parameters, frequency tuning, and adjusting output power to meet system specifications.
- Signal Analysis : Utilise tools such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and simulation software to evaluate signal integrity, assess antenna patterns, and optimise RF performance.
- Prototyping and Testing : Build and test antenna prototypes in various environments to validate design assumptions and ensure compliance with communication requirements.
- System Integration : Work closely with embedded engineers to ensure seamless integration of RF and antenna components within the embedded system architecture.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging : Identify and resolve issues related to RF performance, including interference management, signal distortion, and communication failures.
- Documentation : Develop comprehensive technical documentation detailing antenna designs, RF configurations, and testing procedures for internal and regulatory compliance use.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with firmware, hardware, and software teams to align RF and antenna design efforts with overall product objectives and ensure cohesive system performance.
Required Qualifications :
Educational Background : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
Experience : 3-5 years of experience in RF communication system design, antenna design, and wireless communications.
Technical Skills :
- Strong understanding of RF principles, wireless communication protocols, and modulation techniques.
- Proven experience in antenna design, including simulation, tuning, and real-world performance optimization.
- Proficiency with RF measurement and simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, MATLAB, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
- Knowledge of embedded system communication interfaces and integration (SPI, UART).
Soft Skills :
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across various technical domains.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with low-power RF design and antenna systems for compact embedded devices.
- Familiarity with real-world deployment of RF systems and field-testing procedures.
- Prior experience working in a startup or R&D environment, demonstrating the ability to innovate and adapt.
