Sr Talend Data Engineer

Role Overview:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, as well as building and maintaining the infrastructure required for the smooth extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of large datasets. You will leverage Talend and other big data technologies to ensure high-quality, high-performance data integration solutions. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Talend, cloud platforms, and data engineering best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient ETL pipelines using Talend and other big data technologies.
• Data Integration Transformation: Work with business analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements and build data integration solutions to support analytics and reporting.
• Talend Expertise: Use Talend s suite (Talend Studio, Talend Data Integration, Talend Cloud, etc.) to design and implement data pipelines and workflows.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize ETL processes to handle large volumes of data with high performance and reliability.
• Cloud Data Engineering: Work with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to implement data integration and data warehouse solutions.
• Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data integrity and quality throughout the ETL process. Implement automated testing and validation for data pipelines.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to design data solutions that meet business needs.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members in best practices for data engineering and Talend.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and concise technical documentation for data pipelines and architecture

Technical Skills:

• Experience: 7-8 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3-4 years of hands-on experience using Talend for ETL, data integration, and cloud-based solutions.
• Talend Expertise: Proficiency with Talend Data Integration, Talend Cloud, and Talend Studio, including development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data platforms like Hadoop, Spark, and related ecosystems.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud-based data services such as AWS (Redshift, S3, Lambda), Azure (Azure Data Lake, SQL Data Warehouse), or Google Cloud (BigQuery, Dataflow).
• Programming Languages: Strong programming skills in SQL, Java, Python, or similar languages used in data engineering.
• Database Systems: Deep understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Data Warehousing: Hands-on experience with data warehousing concepts and tools like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Data Governance: Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance best practices.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proven ability to solve complex data challenges.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
