Embedded Software Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Design, develop, and maintain C/C++ applications for embedded systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Develop unit test code with stubs and simulators which can be automated in the build pipeline.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware engineers, software engineers, and QA teams) to define and implement software requirements for embedded platforms.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Day to day communication with client to understand their requirements/issues and to provide solutions
• Optimize and debug software to meet system requirements and performance targets.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.

Research and stay up to date with the latest embedded technologies, tools, and best practices.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of experience in developing embedded applications using C/C++.
• Proficient in C, C++, and knowledge in Python with hands-on development experience.
• Practical experience working with any Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).
• Strong hands-on experience with various microcontrollers and their peripherals.
• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP): Deep understanding of OOP principles and their application in embedded systems.
• Embedded Systems: Experience with microcontrollers, peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.), and sensor integration.

• RTOS: Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems.
• Knowledge in communication protocols like MQTT and CoAP
• Linux: Experience with Linux kernel, shell scripting, and developing applications for embedded Linux platforms.
• Debugging Tools: Familiarity with JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analysers for troubleshooting embedded systems.
• Cloud Technologies: Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git for source code management and collaborative development.
• Agile Development: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
