Role & responsibilities

• Bachelors degree in product design, engineering, industrial design or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in product development or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of product development processes, from ideation to commercialization.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and cost optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with market research techniques and consumer behavior in the Indian market.
• Strong business acumen and market awareness, with the ability to translate customer needs into product requirements.
• Proficiency in product design software and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality products.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to priorities tasks, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• A creative mindset and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Objectives of this role

• Conducting product research and competitor analysis to understand consumer preferences and market dynamics in India.
• Defining product specifications, features and performance requirements based on market demands.
• Generating creative and innovative ideas and concepts for new products or product enhancements.
• Creating prototypes and conducting testing to validate product designs and functionalities.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design and manufacturing, to ensure successful product development and timely launch.
• Monitoring product development timelines, budgets and quality standards.
• Conducting feasibility studies and cost analyses to determine the viability and profitability of new products.
• Managing product documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals and other marketing collaterals.

Sheet Metal Procession engineering industry experience will be added advantage.
