Position Summary:
The Plant Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the Kolkata plant operations. This role involves managing plant budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The Plant Finance Controller will work closely with both plant management and corporate finance teams to drive financial performance and operational efficiency
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the plant.
- Conduct variance analysis between actual vs. budgeted financial performance and provide actionable insights.
- Prepare financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
- Provide timely and accurate financial data for decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the preparation and management of the plant's annual budget and forecasts.
- Ensure accurate forecasting of plant revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Monitor and analyze plant financial performance against budget, identifying areas for improvement.
Cost Control and Optimization:
- Implement and monitor cost control measures to optimize plant operations.
- Work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Analyze and report on cost variances, providing recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee plant financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.
Inventory Management and Valuation:
- Oversee plant inventory management processes, ensuring proper valuation and accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with the supply chain and operations teams to ensure proper stock levels and efficient use of resources.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage plant cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and capital investments.
- Review and optimize working capital, including receivables, payables, and inventory.
Team Management and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team at the plant, ensuring efficient operations and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and development opportunities to the finance team members.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaise with plant management, corporate finance, and other departments to ensure smooth communication and alignment on financial matters.
- Prepare presentations for senior management and corporate stakeholders on plant performance and financial outlook.
Qualifications:
Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) OR Cost Accountant (CMA).
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance, with at least 3-4 years in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on financial performance is essential.
Skills:
- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced MS Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
