We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Director of Data Engineering who will lead our data initiatives and build scalable applications and platforms. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader with a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to continuous learning, capable of working in an agile environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities :

-Leadership & Strategy : Lead the data engineering team to develop and implement data strategies that support business objectives and drive digital growth for our clients.

-Technical Oversight : Guide the development of robust data pipeline frameworks, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

-Project Management : Own and deliver on large, multi-faceted data engineering projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet client and business needs.

-Data Processing Expertise : Leverage technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills to design and optimize data processing and extraction workflows.

-Team Development : Mentor and train team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

-Stakeholder Communication : Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications/ Requirements :

- Proven experience in data processing and extraction techniques, with a strong grounding in complex SQL and relational databases (RDBMS).

- Extensive project experience with technologies such as Spark, PySpark, Scala, Python, NiFi, Hive, and NoSQL databases.

- Demonstrated ability to design and build big data pipelines for large-scale, distributed systems.

- Experience with Google BigQuery is an advantage.

- Strong programming skills in PySpark, Scala with Spark, and Python.

- Familiarity with various ETL and Business Intelligence tools.

- Proficiency in shell scripting to automate data pipeline execution.

- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and project management practices.

- Experience with version control systems like Git.

Nice-to-have skills :

- Experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and Firebase.

- BigQuery certification.

- Unix or Shell scripting proficiency.

- Strong background in delivering high-value, business-facing technical projects in major organizations.

- Experience managing client delivery teams in a Data Engineering or Data Science environment.

- Familiarity with API development.

- B.Tech./M.Tech./MS or BCA/MCA degree from a reputed university.

- Minimum 7 years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with a focus on leadership roles.
