Job Title: Assistant Manager - HR

Job Location: Metoda

Department: Human Resources

Job Overview:

The Assistant Manager - HR will be responsible for supporting and overseeing all aspects of human resources activities within the organization. This role involves recruitment, employee data management, payroll, training, policy implementation, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Assistant Manager - HR will play a key role in maintaining an efficient, compliant, and motivated workforce by addressing all HR needs and supporting the organizational culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Interview Setup:
    • Act as the face of HR for the company, overseeing recruitment activities and organizing interviews.
    • Maintain and update job descriptions, ensuring alignment with company goals and job requirements.
  • Employee Data Management:
    • Ensure all employee data is recorded and maintained as per the Factory Act and relevant labor laws.
    • Encourage line staff to collect and organize employee documentation (ID cards, bank accounts, insurance, etc.).
  • Payroll & Compensation:
    • Design salary structures and manage the payroll system.
    • Ensure payroll is completed accurately and within deadlines.
    • Provide reports on key HR metrics, such as staff turnover, cost per hire, and training hours.
  • Performance Management:
    • Monitor and ensure that employee appraisals are conducted in accordance with company policy.
    • Manage probationary periods and address performance or grievance issues in a legally compliant and professional manner.
  • Policy & Compliance:
    • Develop and implement the HR manual and ensure policies are up to date and compliant with legal requirements.
    • Provide day-to-day HR guidance to line managers on staff management, remuneration, housekeeping, and other HR-related issues.
  • Training & Development:
    • Design and implement employee training programs, ensuring that costs are managed within the budget.
    • Organize and manage aspiring students' training programs, assigning proper tasks and providing guidance.
    • Implement 5S and Kaizen activities to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Employee Well-being:
    • Conduct occupational health referrals to ensure employee well-being.
    • Monitor employee absence and short leave on duty, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Infrastructure & Development:
    • Support the development of basic infrastructure, including gardens and parking areas, as part of maintaining a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, Factory Act, and other applicable regulations.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee issues with confidentiality and professionalism.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong understanding of HR metrics and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping and documentation skills.
  • Experience in designing and managing employee training and development programs.
  • Knowledge of 5S and Kaizen principles is a plus.
