Mine Planning Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Current Mine
• Develop medium-term and long-term mine plans using specialized mining software (Vulcan, Minesight).
• Create optimum pit designs, production schedules, and mining sequences.
• Based on regular updated test results, optimize blends to maintain highest levels of pellet production.
• Perform reserve calculations and grade control planning.
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure plan execution.
• Monitor and analyze mining costs, productivity, and KPIs.
• Maintain accurate mining records and prepare technical reports.
• Future Mine development
• Work with consultant(s) to develop mine plan for expansion.
• Develop various iterations that are necessary for compliance from safety, environment, cost and other various factors.
• Leadership
• Develop a team of graduate engineers for various mine planning activities
• Develop monthly reporting and improvement opportunities.
• Develop a good chain of talent pipeline for organization.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mine planning, preferably in open-pit operations.
• Proficiency in mining software (e.g., Vulcan, MineSight, or similar).
• Strong understanding of geostatistics and resource modelling.
• Experience with mine optimization, haulage, equipment utilization simulation techniques.

• Will need some odd time workings at times to sync up with USA time zones
