The Legal Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the organizations adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements. This role will focus on managing compliance frameworks, performing risk assessments, liaising with external stakeholders, and ensuring that all legal documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with statutory obligations.
PF, ESIC, and Statutory Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements under the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), and other labor laws applicable to the organization.
- Handle the filing, reporting, and payment procedures for PF, ESIC, and other statutory benefits as per legal requirements.
- Maintain and monitor records for employee provident fund and ESIC contributions, ensuring timely deposit and accurate filings with the relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with all labor-related laws, including the Payment of Gratuity Act, Bonus Act, Maternity Benefits Act, and Minimum Wages Act.
Liaisoning with Government Authorities:
- Act as the point of contact with government authorities, PF & ESIC departments, and other regulatory bodies for compliance issues.
- Facilitate the resolution of any disputes with government authorities related to PF, ESIC, or other statutory matters.
- Engage with external legal or consultancy firms to stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure proactive compliance.
Audit and Documentation:
- Coordinate and manage regular audits of PF, ESIC, and other statutory benefits, both internally and with external auditors.
- Ensure that all required documentation (employee details, PF/ESIC statements, payment receipts, etc.) is maintained and kept up to date.
- Prepare reports and maintain records for internal audits, as well as any external inspections or regulatory checks.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal or compliance risks related to PF, ESIC, and other statutory obligations and work to mitigate these risks.
- Advise the management on statutory changes and implications for the organization’s operations and compliance strategies.
- Support management in implementing corrective actions in case of non-compliance or violations of statutory requirements.
Dispute Resolution:
- Address and resolve any disputes related to statutory benefits, including PF, ESIC, or other employee benefits.
- Handle escalations and liaise with legal counsel if necessary to resolve complex issues.
