IT Technology Specialist Finance

About this opportunity:

The IT Technology Specialist will use deep specialist knowledge and understanding of the Finance business area direction and priorities to drive innovative solutions to issues and challenges faced by Finance and other business unit.

What you will do:

• Use deep specialist knowledge and understanding of the Finance business area direction and priorities to drive innovative solutions to issues and challenges faced by Finance and other business unit.
• Responsible for converting requirements into the architecture and design that ultimately constitute the blueprint for the solution.
• Provide and communicate solution ideas and recommendations to stakeholders using appropriate models and documentation.
• Support Finance with solution evaluation and selection decisions; buy vs. build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the creation of business case.
• Work with the business to co-ordinate and drive their activities to ensure the delivery of the SAP Finance solution, linking into the overall delivery programme and plan.
• Innovate and test new technologies with relevance to the Finance and controlling, including POCs, assessments and business case development.
• Undertake business analysis and business process analysis as part of solution design process in finance work stream.
• Ensure that all elements of the SAP accounting system are implemented, tested and able to go-live.
• Apply an in-depth understanding of SAP Activate or ASAP implementation methodology, contributing to project planning and implementation approach.
• Ensure technical competencies and specialisations are kept up-to-date in line with industry developments.
• Involvement with pre-sales and business development activities will be a key part of this role, including implementation estimations and input in Statement of Work preparation.

The skills you bring:

• Strong financial understanding, preferred with accounting or controlling experience, with at least At least 5 years relevant working experience in the field of SAP experience including at least 3 end to end deployments.
• Certified in Finance and Controlling modules, ideally with specialisation in Controlling -Product Costing or CO-PA.
• Strong Hands on sap configure experiencewithin the areas of FI/CO:
• Structuring enterprise structure in sap to ensure ease of reporting / consolidation
• Asset Accounting Structuring
• Controlling- FI to CO-PA Reconciliation, Product Costing
• Finance- New GL functionalities
• Proven experience of playing the key role in the design and development of IT solutions for Finance and be the first point of contact for everyday project management queries with stakeholders the local system users.
• Being at ease presenting to the business you will be happy working with the existing solution and articulating the benefits of the new SAP finance solution to business stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate technical solutions and options in a way that can be understood by non-technical people and that leads to quality decision making
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiating skills, experience in working with programme team, finance departments & finance stakeholders
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Proven attention to detail, with excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving with the ability to relate problems to the wider organizational context and time management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments at the same time.
