As a Senior Cloud Engineer, You will be expected to have excellent technical knowledge and experience in the areas of automated provisioning, configuration and deployment and a hunger to share your knowledge, develop yourself and find new solutions to the challenges.
The opportunity is suited to Infrastructure & Azure Cloud Engineers with substantial experience who already have a good level of technical understanding (including DevOps technologies) but are keen to use and develop their skills further.
There will also be travel to regional sites, or offices as required. The successful candidate will need to be available out of hours for critical tasks and events. The role also requires the successful candidate to be on on-call (rota based).
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will share a number of responsibilities within the team, split across two themes (Supporting and Developing):
Developing
Fabric of the public & private cloud, refining and developing the configuration, automation, and features.
Understand and support software development teams across Equiniti, raising awareness of infrastructure deployment mechanisms and methodologies early in the development lifecycle.
Developing of the Kubernetes Container Platform (Public & Private Cloud).
Cloud & Container centre of excellence.
Supporting
Proactively, the public & private cloud fabric. (EQ Private Cloud, Azure & AWS).
Proactively, the Kubernetes Platform.
On boarding of new tenants, from existing hosted solutions and new business wins.
Business units with technical pre-sales support.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Strong public cloud skills; Architecture and Administration.
Strong people skills, able to articulate complex technical points to different audiences.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
In-depth configuration management, automation, and scripting skills (PowerShell, bash, puppet).
Strong Infrastructure as Code skills especially Terraform.
Understands components of an operating system, regardless of flavour or version
Good team player, mentor, and support colleagues.
In-depth knowledge of platform and application automated deployment technologies
Desirable requirements:
Exposure to continuous integration and build tools (e.g., Jenkins, gitlab, Azure DevOps or similar)
Understanding of Service-Orientated Architecture and Micro Services (REST)
Experience working with revision control source code repositories.
Experience working in a regulated and accredited environment, with awareness of; ISO 27001, ITIL, Prince2 and Government accredited environments.
Docker & Kubernetes experience.
Experience working with Newrelic, i.e NRQL, metric analysis
