The Internal Control Coordinator position is a highly visible role at Equiniti providing the right individual with plenty of exposure to senior stakeholders. The right candidate should be able to coordinate independent testing in relation to the UK Corporate Governance Code 2024, communicate control deficiencies with Process and Control Owners, provide support for remediation of control deficiencies and provide management reporting on the effectiveness of controls.
As an Internal Controls Coordinator, he/she will independently coordinate communications from Corporate Accounting to the relevant Finance Functions, will be a trusted advisor providing training and guidance on EQ Global Accounting Policies and the Risk and Control Framework.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
Provide training on EQ Global Accounting Policy and provide support to ensure compliance with Corporate Governance.
Coordinate the documentation of controls in collaboration with Process and Control Owners.
Conduct ongoing Know Your Controls sessions with the relevant functions.
Conduct Process walkthroughs, test of design and test of effectiveness to evaluate controls compliance.
Evaluate audit findings, identify control gaps and deficiencies, and provide support for the timely remediation of controls.
Identify control improvements and collaborate with Process Owners and Control Owners to implement.
Provide Management Reporting on the effectiveness of controls including details of how deficient controls are being remediated.
Coordinate quarterly review and certification of Detailed Desk Procedures.
Provide support for internal and external auditors.

Qualification / skills required:
University qualified & inter CA / ICWAI/ CMA qualified preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in core accounting domain.
