The Food & Beverage (F&B) department plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our residents by providing nutritious, delicious, and balanced meals tailored to their individual health needs and preferences.


Job Summary:

The F&B Head will be responsible for overseeing the entire food and beverage operations across Epoch

Elder Cares facilities. This includes menu planning, ensuring dietary needs are met, managing kitchen

staff, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards, budget management, and exploring

revenue generation opportunities through F&B services. The role is critical to delivering a premium

dining experience that contributes to the physical and emotional well-being of residents.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food services management, a passion for elder

care, and the ability to lead and innovate in a healthcare/hospitality environment.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Menu Planning & Nutritional Management

  • Design and implement nutritionally balanced menus, keeping in mind residents dietary

restrictions, medical conditions, and cultural preferences.

  • Work with the care team (doctors, dieticians, and nursing staff) to ensure meals are aligned with

individual care plans.

  • Introduce variety and seasonal changes in the menu to enhance the dining experience.

2. Food Preparation & Quality Control

  • Ensure meals are prepared with high-quality ingredients and presented attractively.
  • Implement and monitor food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring compliance

with FSSAI guidelines.

  • Conduct regular quality checks on food taste, texture, and presentation to ensure consistency

and excellence.

3. Kitchen Operations & Staff Management

  • Manage and supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and service staff.
  • Conduct training sessions on food safety, hygiene, portion control, and elder-friendly cooking

techniques.

  • Ensure timely preparation and service of meals, including snacks and refreshments.

4. Involvement with new project

  • Participate in evaluating new projects and ensure the kitchen is efficiently set up in new

facilities. Additionally, oversee the budget for the initial setup.

4. Inventory & Vendor Management

  • Manage inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels of food and supplies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to source fresh, high-quality ingredients at the best rates.
  • Monitor costs and work within the allocated budget for F&B operations.

5. Budget Management & Cost Control

  • Develop and manage the annual budget for F&B operations across all facilities.
  • Track expenses and implement cost-control measures without compromising food quality or

service.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize operational efficiency and reduce wastage.

6. Revenue Generation Through F&B Services

  • Explore and implement revenue-generating opportunities such as catering services, special

event dining packages, and guest meal plans.

  • Develop partnerships with external vendors for collaborative events and services.
  • Ensure the F&B department contributes to the overall financial goals of the organization.

7. Resident Engagement & Feedback

  • Regularly interact with residents to gather feedback on food quality, preferences, and areas of improvement.
  • Organize special dining events, theme-based meals, and celebrations to keep the dining

experience engaging and enjoyable.

8. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including FSSAI guidelines.
  • Maintain proper documentation related to kitchen operations, inventory, and staff training.
  • Conduct regular audits of kitchen practices to ensure safety and hygiene standards are

consistently met.


Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of nutrition, especially for elderly and dementia care.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Highly proficient and confident in working with MS Office tools.
  • Budget management and cost control expertise.
  • Ability to identify revenue opportunities through innovative F&B offerings.
  • Empathy and a resident-first approach to meal planning and service.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management / Culinary Arts / Nutrition or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in F&B management, preferably in healthcare, elder care, or hospitality.
  • Experience in working with special diets (diabetic, low-sodium, pureed, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Certification in food safety and hygiene (FSSAI) is mandatory.

Work Conditions:

  • The F&B Head will need to oversee kitchen operations across multiple Epoch Elder Care

facilities.

  • Requires flexibility in working hours, especially during meal service times and special events.
