Job Description:

We are now looking for an experienced and qualified candidate with the main mission to work as Senior Engineer - Electrical System Design.

Your main responsibilities in this role will be:

• Research on electrification of surface drill rigs and grid integration.
• Provide in depth technical analysis and recommendations for future development.
• Identify new functional requirements for electric mining machine and secure intellectual property with innovations.
• Develop customer demo with electrical simulation models highlighting impact of electrical machines on the grid infrastructure.
• Co-ordinate with division engineers for the Drill blast and Exploration rig projects / tasks related to electrical system studies and execute them with clear understanding.
• Ensure timely completion of projects meeting customer expectations on Quality Specifications.
• Prepare technical reports and white papers with electrical studies.
• Coach / Mentor team members in solving technical / project related issues.
• Assist and participate in the discussions related to electrical studies as required by other divisions within EITC.
• Be a key resource and go to person for application and grid knowledge on electrical studies and help develop this competency further and sustain at EITC level.
• Maintain effective and timely communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Reporting to the Manager in a timely and efficient manner.
• Complying with company policies and following company values and business code of practice.
• Exhibits Epiroc core values, integrity, and open global culture.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 4 Years of experience in power system and power electronics modelling Expertise in electrical simulation tools e.g. MATLAB, PSCAD or similar. Knowledge on power grid operation, control and protections. Operation of power converter and drive system.

Knowledge / Educational requirements:

ME/MS or Ph.D. Electrical engineering Good working knowledge on electrical grid operations, power electronics and drive system. Proficiency in control strategy selection and analyzing electrical system behavior.
