DB2 Developer

We are seeking a skilled IBM DB2 Developer with over 5 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain our DB2 databases. The ideal candidate will have expertise in database management, performance optimization, and an understanding of related tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Development: Design, develop, and implement DB2 database solutions for various applications.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor, optimize, and ensure the high availability and reliability of databases.
• Data Integration: Develop and maintain ETL processes for seamless data integration across systems.
• Backup & Recovery: Implement robust backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity.
• Security Management: Manage database security, ensuring compliance with access controls and standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, system admins, and other stakeholders to meet project requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Proficiency:
• Extensive experience with IBM DB2 database management.
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for database development and querying.
• Solid understanding of database design, normalization, and data modeling.
• Tools & Technologies:
• Familiarity with IBM Data Studio and other database development tools.
• Experience with ETL tools such as IBM DataStage or Informatica.
• Knowledge of IBM Optim Performance Manager for performance monitoring.
• Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Exposure to operating systems like AIX, Linux, and Windows.
• Scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automation.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve database issues effectively.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data warehousing and big data technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and deploying DB2 databases in cloud environments.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
