Develop battery 3D thermal-electrochemical modeling coupling various physical phenomena (electrochemical reactions, diffusion, chemical reactions, expansion effects, thermal effects).
Use the 3D models for better material property design, improving pre-lithiation process, predicting cell / battery-pack temperature profiles, simulate local shorting, understand effects of Li non-uniformity and high C-rates on battery performance, understand degradation reactions contaminant handling etc
Expertise in working with commercial software such as ABAQUS / COMSOL / Ansys / GT or equivalent software a must.
Expertise in making reduced order models for use in applications.
Experience in battery electrochemistry and electrode structure design.
Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams within the organization, including manufacturing, testing, NPI, and sales.
Communicate key results / insights from these models to R&D, Manufacturing, and leadership teams through internal reports and meetings.
Create IP for the company.
Stay up to date on battery modeling and recent advancements in this field.
Represent and promote Enovix products in technical conferences.
Qualifications:
Degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, or related discipline. Background in chemical engineering / electrochemistry/ battery modeling a must.
Experience : Candidates with at least 5 years of work experience are preferred.
Technical Skills
o Proficiency in building thermo-electrochemical models in one of the following software: ABAQUS, COMSOL, GT, Ansys/ FLUENT.
o Proficiency in the following is a plus
Pseudo-2D models (PyBaMM), single particle models
Python, optimization algorithms, libraries such as Pandas, Scikit learn and visualization libraries.
Good communication, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
