The Junior Accountant supports the finance and accounting team by performing essential bookkeeping and accounting tasks. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Financial Record Maintenance:
Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
Ensure the accuracy of accounting entries and resolve discrepancies.
2.Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process and verify invoices and payments.
Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and handle discrepancies.
3.Bank Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
Prepare and verify bank deposits and fund transfers.
4.Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
5.Compliance and Taxation:
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and tax regulations.
Assist in preparing tax filings and audits as required.
6.Support Functions:
Provide support during internal and external audits.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures.
7.Ad Hoc Tasks:
Perform additional duties as assigned by the senior accountant or management team.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
Qualifications:
1.Educational Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2.Experience:
0-2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
Internship experience in finance or accounting is an advantage.
3.Skills and Competencies:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Tally).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
