Engineer III - Embedded Software Development

As a Software Developer in a Platform Engineering team, you will build platform features for Verizon routers, gateways, and extenders. You will be part of the SDLC process while working with stakeholders like business PoCs, Device Technology Engineers, Maintenance Engineer quality engineers, and Solution Architects.

• Working with a team of engineers, and partners like QA, SME, and Architect for router platform deliverables.
• Investigating customer problems referred to by the technical support team.
• Handling technical communications with Partners to understand clients' systems or APIs.
• Implementing router platform requirements.
• Setting up, maintaining, and operating test automation frameworks.
• Developing features that adhere to PRPL Foundation standards.
• Improving the overall delivery excellence by working through project dynamics.

What were looking for...

• Bachelors degree with four or more years of work experience.
• Strong C and C++ programming skills along with excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience in Multi-Threading/Core primitives, and programming
• Experience in developing software for Embedded Linux platforms
• Good knowledge of networking protocols and router configuration.
• Knowledge of Linux Bootloaders, Flash partitions, BSPs, and device drivers and their configuration
• Knowledge of Linux IPC mechanisms like ubus and D-bus
• Experience in working with large open-source software projects
• Experience in Linux build tools (e.g. GCC, Make, CMake, Shell Scripts, etc.)
• Experience in build and package management systems like OpenWrt, Buildroot, Yocto Project, etc.

• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
• Experience working in Agile/SAFe teams.
• Good to have: Modern C++ knowledge (C++11 to 20).
• Any experience in opensource router platform development (PrplOS, Openwrt, Containers, etc.).
• Any experience in WiFi and Ethernet driver integration.
• Collaboration skills to manage peers, partners, and other stakeholders.
