We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team and support a critical cloud migration project. This role involves migrating data solutions from Azure to GCP for a leading logistics and sales company. The project has experienced challenges with previous migration attempts, and we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring a successful transition. Key Responsibilities. Lead and execute the migration from Azure to GCP (future generation), focusing on efficient data pipelines, scalable architectures, and backfill processes. Work with a team to resolve complex issues related to the failed migration, including high churn and backfill requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders and speak your mind on technical challenges and solutions throughout the end-to-end process. Utilize your expertise in DBT and GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer to ensure smooth migration. Engage in remote onboarding and potentially visit Stockholm as required (expenses covered). Contribute to the recruitment process by supporting the onboarding of new data engineers (up to 10 per month). Must-Have Skills. Minimum 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer. Extensive experience with GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, etc). Proficiency in DBT (must be strong). Proven track record in cloud migrations, particularly from Azure to GCP. Strong communication skills and ability to contribute to discussions on solutions and improvements. Nice-to-Have Skills. SQL. Python. Terraform. Project Overview. Migration of current-generation data solutions from Azure to future-generation GCP. Project has experienced two failed migration attempts and requires critical backfill processes to address churn. High-paced onboarding of new team members (10 per month). Recruitment Process.
