APIGEE Developer (5-7 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Apigee Developer to join our team.

You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and managing APIs and policies using Apigee for our client's on-premise environment.

This role involves working across the entire API lifecycle, from analysis and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

You will also be responsible for migrating existing APIs and policies to Apigee Edge (4g).

This is a fully remote, work-from-home opportunity.

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and configure APIs and policies using Apigee for large, complex systems, focusing on on-premise integration.

- Implement API security best practices, including OAuth 2.0, API key management, and other authentication/authorization mechanisms.

- Migrate APIs and policies from older Apigee versions to Apigee Edge (4g), ensuring minimal disruption and data integrity.

- Adhere to REST/SOA API design principles and best practices.

- Perform administrative tasks within the Apigee platform, including user management, environment configuration, and deployment.

- Develop and implement comprehensive test cases for APIs, ensuring functionality, performance, and security.

- Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

- Participate in application service lifecycle planning, including upgrades, versioning, phase-out, and retirement of APIs.

- Frame and implement best practices for Apigee administration and API design.

- Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues, providing timely support and maintenance.

- Document API specifications, designs, and implementations.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest Apigee features, updates, and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience :

- 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and managing APIs and policies on Apigee for large, complex systems.

- 3+ years of experience with REST/SOA API design principles.

- Strong understanding of Apigee administration, including environment configuration, user management, and deployment.

- Experience migrating APIs and policies to Apigee Edge (4g).

- Solid experience in defining and implementing test cases for APIs.

- Proficiency in API security best practices (OAuth 2.0, API Key Management, etc.)

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills (Optional) :

- Experience with other API management platforms.

- Knowledge of cloud-based API deployments.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

- Experience with scripting languages (e.g, JavaScript, Python).
