Service Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Key Purpose of the Job :

The Service Engineer is responsible for hands-on aftermarket technical service for breakdowns, repairs and maintenance of automotive equipments. The role holder is responsible for installation commissioning new / existing automotive equipments and regular service activities. Additionally, the role holder is responsible for generation of leads for aftermarket service and spares / parts sales. Handling interactions with customers, dealers for service and related activities are critical to the role holder.

Key Responsibilities :

• Responsible for providing immediate aftermarket technical service for restoration of automotive equipments in the event of breakdowns.
• Responsible for completion of aftermarket service including installations, regular maintenance service.
• Handle sales lead generation for service and spares / parts revenue.
• Maintain and update MIS, Aftermarket documentation, etc.
• Responsible for achieving customer satisfaction for assigned customer accounts.
• Attend to assigned service / technical support calls from Customer Care Service (CCS) and promptly respond to customer complaints regarding automotive equipments breakdowns.
• Conduct routine / base level checks on equipment to establish cause of automotive equipments breakdown.
• Adhere to warranty conditions while servicing the automotive equipments and raise invoices accordingly.
• As.sist dealer technician in repairs and maintenance of automotive equipments.
• Follow procedures as per checklist / instruction manual for installation of equipment.
• Keep record of service, maintenance, repairs activity along with details of customer, problem, solution, status of issue, etc.

Educational Qualification / Experience required :

• Diploma in Engineering, in Mechanical discipline.
• Experience of 1 to 8 years in technical service and repair of automotive equipments.
• Should possess hands-on experience in servicing automotive equipments.
• Should possess knowledge of diagnostic methods, tools & techniques.
