Job Description
System Architect (Functional Safety)
The Functional Safety SystemArchitect is responsible for technical safety concept definition, the executionof functional safety analysis, the analysis of key safety technologies andtrends, the customer and supplier facing activities.
Aspart of the Offer Team he/she contributes to the early definition of theproduct and its safety Concept during the Offer Phase in order to make properevaluation of the functional safety impacts on the HW and SW perimeter andrelated development effort and costs.
Aspart of the System and HW Platform/System Team he/she supports the generationof the technical safety concept, including requirements and architecturemodeling for HW and SW components, and architecture analysis.

Mainactivities/responsibilities
M onitortechnology trends on HW and SW safety relevant functionalities also comparingproposals from different vendors.
Specify andselect the basic HW and SW technologies needed to achieve the targetperformances and to ensure the best cost/performance compromise.
Define thetechnical safety concept and document the functional repartition between HW andSW in cooperation with HW and SW System Architects.
Elaborateinternal System Requirements related to functional safety in cooperation withthe System Requirement Engineer, HW and SW System Architects
Model the Systemat functional and HW and SW level, also allocating System Requirements to theHW and SW System Blocks
Providegovernance in the HW and SW teams about different implementation proposals
Ensure projectexecution and related work products are aligned with Functional Safetyprocesses and requirements.
Participate whenrequested to the meetings with the customer supporting the Technical ProjectLeader (TPL) and SW Project Leader on technical discussion
Deploy the SystemFMEA and qualitative FTA.
Estimate Systemperformances also defining and using suitable models, in order to define theoptimal HW and SW resources budget

Education& Former Experience
ElectronicEngineering Degree, Information Science Degree.
Experience on HWand SW product development for the overall life cycle (from RFQ phase toProduction follow up).
More than 6years-experience of embedded real time electronic product development with highlevel of SW contents.
The abovecompetences have to be maturated in automotive area or other large scalemarkets.
Experienced inplanning, monitoring and control activities (Project Management & Tools)
