Job Purpose

• To Perform structural analysis on existing telecommunication structures (including self-supporting, guyed, monopoles and their foundations) to conclude on tower capacity and give recommendations for strengthening needed to increase capacity;
• To Design new towers, tower foundations and strengthening the existing towers;
• Review new service requests pertaining to collocation & upgrades and determines the proper action to be taken, reviews physical verification reports and recommends remediation requirements on towers

Key Job Responsibilities:

Functional / Technical / Process

• Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating technical assignments, ensuring that standards and procedures are adhered to, and recommending process improvements
• Plan approaches for working on tasks involving non-standard engineering issues
• Collaborate with peers and other departments to help minimize problems with workflow or changes that would impact the team and also provides to the team guidance on rules and regulations on technical matters pertaining to structural and civil engineering
• Review service requests to determine that adequate information is provided & perform feasibility analysis
• Review tower structures and foundations for existing, proposed and reserved tenant configurations
• Perform analysis on towers using hand calculations, tower analysis software and other accepted methods
• Propose design modifications for tower and foundation strengthening
• Validate PLVA (Pole Loading Validation Activity) and TLVA (Tower Loading Validation Activity) reports prepared by third party structural consultants
• Validate the strengthening drawings and BOQ pertaining to PLVA and TLVA
• Answer structure-related inquiries from internal and external customers
• Conclude tower loading feasibility for new collocation and upgrade requests on existing towers

New Technology Implementation

• Contribute towards development of new designs and techniques to bring in efficiencies
• Complete specialized assignments requiring complex structural design calculations
• Assist with the selection of new design and analysis tools
• Keep abreast of new engineering and drafting technical methods and developments, innovating as opportunities arise and technology allows

Quality Management

• Implement and follow quality control procedures;

• Educational Qualification B.E./B. Tech (Civil/Electrical)
• Technical Competencies -

Knowledge of structural analysis software and CAD software, preferably AutoCAD;

Knowledge of tower structures and design methods;

Proficient with computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Problem Solving Skills

Analytical Skills

Working knowledge of Indian Standards, TIA/EIA-222 code and other relevant specifications preferred.

• Relevant Experience (in Years) Minimum of 6 years experience with communication tower design and analysis;
• Overall Experience (in Years) – 6 - 10 years of experience
