Collections Head

Key Purpose of the Job

The Collections Head will oversee the management and control of collection processes across various verticals, including Industrial Property Loans, Machinery Finance (Big & Small), and micro lap (Secured loans). This role involves handling hard bucket, write-offs, and managing a portfolio across multiple states. The position requires effective team management, strategic planning, and execution of legal proceedings to optimize recovery and resolve non-workable accounts. Role & responsibilities

1. Portfolio Management:

• Oversee and control the collections portfolio across multiple states for various loan types including Industrial Property Loans, Machinery Finance, and Micro Lap loans.
• Identify and address non-workable accounts, including skips, non-starters, and NPAs (Non-Performing Assets), and develop plans for resolution.

2. Legal and Compliance:

• Execute interim orders, summons, and warrants under relevant sections of the NI Act and EP.
• Coordinate with legal departments to ensure timely and efficient handling of repossessed saleable stock, including auctions and retrieval of sale orders.
• Execution of interim orders / summon and warrant under section 9/17, NI act 138 /25

3. Team Management:

• Supervise a team of 15+ direct reports.
• Monitor and guide the daily activities and performance of the collections team, ensuring adherence to systems and processes.

4. Operational Efficiency:

• Oversee the execution and monitoring of collections systems and processes.
• Collaborate with local branches and sales support teams to enhance collection efforts and operational efficiency.

5. Reporting and Strategy:

• Provide regular reports and updates on collections performance, portfolio status, and recovery rates to senior management.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve collection rates and reduce delinquency.

Preferred candidate profile

1. 12 + years of experience in collections management, with a proven track record in handling complex portfolios and leading teams.

2. Proven experience as a leadership role in collections within the financial industry

3. In-depth understanding of NBFC operations, regulations, and market dynamics in India.

4. Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
