Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Power Distribution Systems to join our dynamic team at Barak Brazos Engineering LLP in Bengaluru. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing power distribution systems to meet the needs of our clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and engineering of electrical systems, particularly in the field of power distribution, and will demonstrate leadership in a technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Development: Lead the design and development of power distribution systems, including low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) networks. Create detailed electrical system designs, including single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and network configurations. Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements for power distribution systems.
• System Analysis & Optimization: Conduct load flow, short circuit, and coordination studies to ensure system reliability and optimal performance. Perform fault analysis, and propose corrective measures to improve system efficiency and safety. Provide technical recommendations for upgrading and optimizing existing power distribution systems.
• Project Management & Coordination: Manage and oversee the complete lifecycle of power distribution projects from concept to implementation. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and site engineers, to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. Assist in the preparation of project schedules, resource planning, and budget management.
• Technical Support & Documentation: Provide technical support to clients and internal teams regarding electrical design and system integration. Prepare and review technical documentation, including reports, design calculations, and specifications. Conduct reviews of system design and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their requirements, and provide technical guidance and solutions tailored to their needs. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and discussions to ensure alignment with project goals and expectations.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualification: B.Tech/M.Tech/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Experience: 13-23 years of professional experience in electrical design engineering, with a focus on power distribution systems. Extensive experience with electrical power distribution design software and tools (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT, or similar). Strong understanding of industry standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations (IEEE, IEC, NEC, etc.).
• Technical Skills: Expertise in electrical system design, load flow analysis, fault analysis, and protection coordination. Proficient in designing and analyzing power distribution systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Experience in electrical equipment selection, sizing, and specification (transformers, switchgear, panels, cables, etc.). Solid understanding of SCADA and automation systems in power distribution.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and internal teams. Ability to lead projects, manage deadlines, and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with renewable energy integration (solar, wind, etc.) into power distribution systems.
• Knowledge of international standards and best practices in electrical power distribution.
• Experience in project cost estimation and resource management.
