Assistant Manager Fire & Safety

Role & responsibilities

• Formulate Emergency Response Plan (ERP)
• Establish fire safety committee and Company Emergency Response Team (CERT)
• Conduct fire safety training for occupants, fire wardens and CERT on emergency evacuation procedures and use of fire-fighting equipment
• Develop PowerPoint slides on fire safety and record minutes of meeting during fire safety committee meeting
• Conduct fire drill and table-top exercise and prepare Fire mock drill reports.
• Conduct fire safety inspection to ensure site is free of fire hazards and fire protection systems installed on site are maintained Tenants/Occupiers
• Prepare annual Fire Safety Management report for occupants.
• Completing appropriate rescue, firefighting and salvage operations at a fire scene.
• Using established procedures to determine if individuals are trapped within a burning facility and taking appropriate actions to secure their rescue.
• Liaison with Government authorities for periodic renewal of the Fire NOCs.
• Report and maintain record of all fire safety incidents of site.
• Ensure to Keep all the checklists and records updated related to Fire equipments maintenance and training records.
• Ensure that all fire and safety equipment in an establishment are in good shape always
• Make sure that there are well-developed plans for easy evacuation of people in a building in the case of a fire outbreak and displayed
• Ensure that the fire safety checks are being done time to time
• Enforce safety codes and regulations/guidelines within organization
• Address any form of violation of safety codes within organization
• Investigate and implement appropriate disciplinary action on violators of safety codes within organization.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma in Industrial Safety & Fire Fighting Course (preferably from NIFSE, Nagpur) or any other related course (desired)
• Must have undergone training at Fire Safety Management Academy or attended training at National Fire Service College or at any other equivalent institution recognized by the Government.
• Possess all the qualification and training required to be appointed as Fire Safety Officer.
• Min 5-7 years of practical experience of handling of large construction/warehouse industry.
• Customer and Performance orientated
• Confident in engaging stakeholders and pleasant personality.
