Essence of the profile

GIS Engineer will be a member of Geospatial/Product Development Team. He/She should be

passionate around solving business problems through innovation & engineering practices.

This person will be required to apply his/her depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects

of the geospatial lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with our many

stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. This role requires a wide

variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

Required

1. Strong oral and written communication skills.

2. Create and automate workflows with Python libraries such as Geopandas, GDAL, Rasterio etc.

3. Leverage AWS cloud computing technologies for geospatial data processing and storage.

4. Design, develop, and manage GIS solutions using platforms like ArcGIS, QGIS, GeoServer.

Good to have:

1. Conduct research to identify new Catastrophe datasets which can be added to the product catalog.

2. Conduct spatial data analysis, visualization, and geoprocessing tasks

3. Integrate GIS solutions with other platforms, databases, and APIs.

4. Troubleshoot and resolve GIS-related issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

5. Deploy and manage infrastructure and data services for efficient geospatial data processing.

6. Utilize Python and SQL for geospatial data manipulation, analysis, and querying.

7. Possess a background in working with geospatial data, including raster and vector formats, and applying spatial analysis techniques and modelling approaches related to catastrophe insurance industry.

8. Work with internal teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, propose solutions, and present findings.
