About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Write efficient, reusable, and well-documented PHP (CodeIgniter) code to develop and enhance web applications.
• Database Management: Optimize MySQL/PostgreSQL queries and design scalable database structures.
• API Development & Integration: Build, test, and integrate RESTful APIs for seamless data exchange between systems.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure applications meet high-performance standards, scalability, and security best practices.
• Full Software Development Life Cycle: Take ownership of the development cycle, from requirement gathering to deployment and post-launch maintenance.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with frontend developers, designers, and stakeholders to align backend development with business objectives.
• Code Reviews & Best Practices: Participate in peer code reviews, follow clean coding principles, and adhere to industry best practices.
• Security & Compliance: Implement secure coding practices, prevent vulnerabilities (SQL Injection, XSS, CSRF), and ensure compliance with OWASP standards.

Skills & QualificationsMust-Have:

• 3-5 years of professional experience as a PHP Developer (with expertise in CodeIgniter).
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture and object-oriented programming in PHP.
• Experience working with MySQL/PostgreSQL databases, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration.
• Hands-on experience with HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and Bootstrap.
• Understanding of Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with server management, caching strategies, and security best practices.

Good to Have:

• Exposure to modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, React, or Angular).
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience working with third-party APIs (Payment Gateways, SMS, Email Services).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
