• Generating innovative ideas for trade books spanning various genres and subjects.
  
• Independently researching topics to gather information and insights for book projects.
  
• Developing comprehensive outlines and structures for books, ensuring coherence and engagement.
  
• Writing original content for trade books, following established guidelines and style preferences.
  
• Editing and refining books for clarity, coherence, grammar, and stylistic consistency.
  
• Collaborating with design and production teams to seamlessly integrate text and visuals.
  
• Staying abreast of industry trends, market demands, and reader preferences.
  
• Efficiently managing time to meet deadlines and effectively handling multiple projects concurrently.
  

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 2 years of working experience as an editor for trade/school books
  
• Should have a Bachelors or a Masters degree in English Literature
  
• Fluency in English (writing, reading, and speaking)
  
• An eye for detail along with critical thinking
  
• Ensuring the delivery of error-free print products
  
• Process adherence
  
• Prioritising and multitasking
