Associate Medical Coder

Edifecs is looking for a Medical Coder who will assist with coding medical documentation for HIPAA claims/encounters.

What you will do:

• Extracting relevant information from patient records.
• Liaising with physicians and other parties to clarify information.
• Examining documents for missing information.
• Familiarity with the main coding systems, including,, and
• Ability to spot inaccuracies or inconsistencies in medical records and ensure precision
• Capacity to interpret and understand complex medical information from patient records
• Ability to on coding software, and relevant tool to perform medical coding
• Performing chart audits.
• Ensuring compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines.

What you will bring:

• Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in health information systems or related field.
• 1 - 2 yearsof work experience as a medical coder.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong people skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.
