The Electrical Engineer - Intern will work on designing, testing, and optimising electrical systems for EV applications. This includes hands-on experimentation with battery systems, power electronics, and control circuits, along with data collection and analysis. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative projects, gaining practical experience in a fast-growing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate electrical testing equipment for batteries and power systems and perform charge/discharge cycle testing and monitor electrical parameters like voltage, current, and capacity.
Analyse battery performance under various operating conditions to assess efficiency and degradation.
Assist in the design and testing of circuits for power conversion, distribution, and management.
Experiment with different charging protocols and optimise hardware configurations for fast charging.
Develop and test hardware for battery management systems (BMS), focusing on safety and performance.
Interface sensors for temperature, voltage, and current monitoring with microcontrollers or embedded systems.
Collaborate with team members to optimise system design using insights from data analysis.
Maintain detailed documentation of experiments, test setups, and results and Prepare reports and presentations summarising findings and recommendations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical and software systems with electrical designs.
Skills Required:
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit design and power systems.
Familiarity with testing and measurement tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data loggers.
Basic knowledge of battery systems, power electronics, and BMS functionality.
Proficiency in tools like MATLAB, Simulink, or other circuit simulation software.
Experience with microcontrollers and programming (eg, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms).
Ability to analyse electrical performance data and Problem-solving skills to debug and optimise electrical designs and test setups.
Strong technical writing skills for maintaining test records and preparing reports.
Effective communication to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Skills
Previous project or internship experience in EV technology, battery systems, or power electronics.
Exposure to fast charging systems or renewable energy applications.
Qualifications:
Pursuing Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant academic projects or prior internship experience in EV systems or related domains is preferred.
Note:
This internship is for 6 months , with the potential for extension to a full-time role based on individual performance.
Candidates with hands-on experience or exposure to EV technology and battery systems will be given preference.
