Job Description :

Our UK-based utility business is seeking an experienced Progress Developer to join its offshore application development team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the development lifecycle, contributing to various phases including system enhancements, troubleshooting software issues, conducting technical investigations, and performing unit and integration testing.

The developer will also be responsible for producing technical documentation and participating in team meetings, reviews, and walkthroughs to ensure smooth progress in application development projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills in application development, with a focus on Progress 4GL and related technologies. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively with teams to meet project objectives.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle will be key in ensuring the successful execution of development tasks.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and enhance applications using Progress 4GL.

- Troubleshoot software faults, and conduct technical investigations to ensure the stability and performance of systems.

- Perform unit and integration testing, ensuring high-quality standards.

- Contribute to the development of software enhancements based on business requirements.

- Produce thorough technical documentation to support application functionality and development processes.

- Actively participate in team meetings, reviews, and walkthroughs, offering insights and feedback on project progress and technical challenges.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and implementation of system changes.

Required Skills :

Primary Skills :

- Proficiency in Progress 4GL, ADM, WebSpeed, HTML, and JavaScript.

- Experience in developing, enhancing, and maintaining applications using the Progress 4GL development environment.

Secondary Skills :

- Familiarity with OpenEdge and Salesforce.

- Knowledge of Savvion would be an added advantage.

Candidate Profile :

Essential Qualifications :

- UG : B.Tech/B.E. (Any specialization).

Desirable Qualifications :

- PG : M.Tech/M.C.A. (Any specialization).

Experience :

- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Progress 4GL application development.

- Experience in the utilities sector is a plus.

Location :

- The position is based in Noida, India, and involves working with the offshore development team supporting a UK-based client.

- Its Hybrid Facility with 3 days working for office and 2 days work from Home
