Senior Embedded Systems Engineer

Eaton Corporation s Center for Intelligent Power has an opening for Senior Embedded Systems Engineer who is passionate about Embedded system development and model based design. Emebdded systems engineer will be involved in developing edge intelligence solutions for CIP. In this role, the embedded systems engineer will be interacting with technical leaders and experts from various business segments within Eaton. The role involves design, development, testing and deployment of intelligent solutions on edge platform. It will also involve development of PC/FPGA-based solutions, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and Rapid Control Prototyping .
" Responsible for design, development, testing of simulink models, code generation, optimization and testing
Implementation of system to component requirements, unit test cases-HIL/SIL, software integration and delivery
Proven track record of problem solving and debugging on actual hardware
The candidate is expected to be conversant with Agile methodologies and tools while having a track record of delivering products in a production environment
The candidate is expected to be experienced in edge specific machine learning libraries and platforms, memory and time optimization
Recommend, set up, integrate, and utilize development environments and frameworks as required for business and data engineering needs
Recommend and set up appropriate performance monitoring solutions; author and implement based on the results
Document and demonstrate solutions by using flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, code snippets, and performance instruments.
Author high-quality, highly-performance, unit-tested code based on business and data engineering needs and participate in code reviews
Work directly with stakeholders, engineering, and test to create high quality solutions that solve end-user problems.

5+ years of progressive experience in delivering technology solutions in a production environment
5+ years of experience in the emebdded systems as a developer, with a proven track record of shipping high quality products
3+ years of experience with modelling tools MATLAB/simulink, automatic code generation, HIL testing
High level analytics ability, understanding engineering theory and principles of design"

Batchelors / Master Electronics, controls or Equivalent Engineering with electives/Thesis in embedded systems, model based design

Experience in model based design
Experience in embedded systems development and troubleshooting and with real-time operating systems
Proven track record of problem solving, system integration, verification and validation
Progamming Knowledge - MATLAB, Simulink, Embedded C/C++, python
SW Development life-cycle process & tools
Agile development methodologies and concepts including hands on with Jira, bitbucket and confluence.
Knowledge on software compliance metrics, standards
Experience with Ethernet, CAN, modbus, TCP/IP
Basic knowledge on AI/ML, edge specific machine learning libraries
Knowledge of IoT technologies
Experience in Design Thinking or human-centered methods to identify and creatively solve customer needs, through a holistic understanding of customer s problem area"
