Accountant duties generally include, but are not limited to:

• Financial Recordkeeping and Reporting:
  
• Record transactions and maintain accurate accounting records (general ledger, journals, registers).
• Prepare periodic financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Compile, analyze, and report financial data to management for decision-making.
• Produce error-free accounting reports and ensure the financial records adhere to GAAP or other relevant accounting frameworks.
• Reconciliation and Auditing:
  
• Reconcile bank statements and verify financial transactions.
• Perform internal audits and assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies by reviewing source documents such as invoices and expense vouchers.

• Systems and Process Management:
  
• Maintain confidential financial records and ensure secure backup processes.

• Technical Competencies:
  
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency with accounting software
• Experience with general ledger functions, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Analytical and Detail-Oriented:
  
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial documentation.
• Communication and Organizational Skills:
  
• Ability to clearly communicate complex financial information in both written and verbal formats.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain systematic records.
