Support Analyst - SQL (4-9 yrs)

Role : Support Analyst

Current and Preferred Location : Bangalore

Mandatory Skills : Windows, SQL, Application Support

Key Responsibilities :

1. Database Management & Support :

- Administer, configure, and maintain databases such as SQL (based on the candidate's expertise).

- Ensure the high availability, scalability, and performance of databases in production environments.

- Perform regular database backups, recoveries, and monitor the health of the databases.

- Assist in database schema changes, indexing, and query optimization.

- Manage database security, user roles, and access controls.

2. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution :

- Investigate and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, downtime, and data corruption.

- Collaborate with the team to ensure that database services are optimized for peak performance.

3. Shift Work :

- Participate in shift work schedules, providing support during different time zones, including evenings and weekends.

- Be available for on-call support for critical database issues.

4. Financial Domain Knowledge :

- Understand the specific requirements and challenges of managing databases in the financial sector, including compliance and regulatory considerations.

- Assist in financial data queries and reporting to ensure that the financial system is operating as expected.

5. AWS Cloud Knowledge :

- Work with AWS technologies, ensuring that databases are properly deployed and optimized in the cloud environment (e.g., Amazon RDS, EC2).

- Implement database solutions that scale within the AWS ecosystem.

6. Communication & Collaboration :

- Communicate effectively with internal teams, understanding database needs and troubleshooting technical problems.

- Prepare and maintain documentation for database configuration, policies, and procedures.

- Provide written and verbal communication in English for reporting issues, solutions, and improvements.

Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle databases.

- Experience in database administration, including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.

- Familiarity with Linux/Windows operating systems.

- Experience with Linux is preferred.

- Knowledge of AWS services and cloud-based database management (e.g., Amazon RDS, EC2, or S3) is a plus.

Domain Knowledge :

- Experience in the financial domain or exposure to financial services is preferred.

- Understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and data security in the financial industry.

Communication Skills :

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

- Ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
